Vail Colorado cross country skiing? Huh? That's right! It may not be the most popular activity in the Vail mountains, but if you ask a select few, it is the only activity. Despite all the trails, lifts and acres of downhill skiing and snowboard activities, there are beautiful locations for the avid cross country skier.
What are my Options for Vail Colorado Cross Country Skiing?
There are two cross-country centers that serve the Nordic skier. One at Golden Park and the other at Vail Golf Course. You will also be able to grab a few lessons at both locations. Here is the number for the Golden Park Center. 970-479-3210. They also offer tours and they offer rentals.
Over the years Cross-Country opportunities have increased in Vail. You may also want to check out some of the following Nordic locations.
- Crested Butte Nordic Center - offering over 35 kilometers of trails
- Whistling Elk Ranch - Over 17 miles of trails
